Survey says: it's still a girl

Last Wednesday, I went in for my big ultrasound. I wasn't nervous until we arrived and my cousin was in front of me for her appointment. She is expecting a boy and me a girl. So we sit and wait and they finally call my name just as Sherrie and Josh are walking out and my mom says "well did anything fall off" and they both had this deer in the headlight look and Josh is all "actually yes... he is now a girl!" What the H? I knew this sort of thing happened but NOT to MY family. So then I get a sick feeling in my stomach as I walk back to the room. So we get in there and the tech was talking to me and she is all "now this is a boy right" and I am all "Um NO, she is a girl" and she is all "well who told you that?" (heart now sinking even further) and I said "I went to the perinatal doctor and they told me that it was 95% a girl" and she is all "oh ok, I was going to give you a bad time if it was Dr. Hartman".... not too funny. Anyway, so yes SHE IS A GIRL. It was really fun to have my mom come to the appointment with me because the only time that she has seen an ultrasound was when she miscarried her twins about 22 - 23 years ago. So yes, she did tear up which made me tear up also. The nurse also told me what a good daddy Kevin will be since he has been to all of my appointments. I agree... Kevin is a kid magnet and I don't have any doubt that he will be a good daddy.... and she will most likely be a "daddy's girl" just like me. I have attached some pictures of the ultrasound. The first picture is her profile with her little ear. The second is of her sucking her thumb and the third one is of her shoulder. So far we think that she has my cheeks and chin (poor girl) and has the "Cox" nose... but time will tell.

UTA Front Runner

So yesterday my family got to go for a free ride (and treats) on the new Front Runner. I am sure to most of you this sounds completely boring but in actuality it was lots of fun.... and peaceful. It was "vendor's and family" appreciation day both Saturday and Sunday so we thought why not? Anyway so we board in Ogden at the depot behind Union Station, and my nephews wanted to sit on the top so we had to fight tooth and nail to get seats up there. Along the way we reached 79 mph and the my nephew Wyatt made friends with the workers on there and got to go up and see where they drive... he was amazed. Anyway, we stopped at the 8 stops along the way to Salt Lake and arrived at the final port right by Gateway. So to me this is going to totally rock when having to go to Salt Lake... because I hate Salt Lake traffic. Anyway, it costs $2.50 to board the train and $ .50 for each additional stop that you go to. One of the cool stops is in Layton. It stops right behind Doug & Emmy's (and if you have never eaten there it is a MUST! I use to sluff high school and drive all the way there just for their breakfasts), anyway back to the story if you let them know ahead of time that you would like some food from there for your ride, they will have it read and bring it out to the train where you just pay for it and have a nice meal to eat along the way. How cool is that?? Anyway you can also buy a month pass for $145 which is good for all UTA transportation, i.e: Front Runner, TRAX and the buses. Not to shabby considering what gas prices are. It also runs from 5 am to 11 pm, but that means that you have to catch the last train at 9 something, can't remember.. so all of you local Jazz fans, catch the train and then stay in a hotel for the night and then catch the train the next morning. And if I was a commuter you bet your butts this is how I would travel. Anyway, if any of you seem interested in going for a ride (oh yeah it took 2 1/2 hours round trip but is suppose to be faster when in actually gets in the swing of things) then they are having more free rides this Saturday 26th and then the 28th, 29th and 30th.

I am bored.... is that ok with you?

So today Kevin started his new job so now I have to be home all day by myself again. AND today was suppose to be my "BIG" ultrasound but the technician had an emergency and couldn't come in. So since I have nothing better to do with my time than sit here and type (I should be working on my schooling), I am going to fill out this LOVE TAG so that many of you can stop wondering about me and Kevin.... and now you can all sleep better at night with this peace of mind.

How did you meet your LoVe?
Answer all the questions HONESTLY . . . .
1. Where did you meet? We met at my work. *He was actually dating a co-worker at the time*
2. What was the first thought that went through your head when you met? So this is "THE KEVIN" that everyone is going ga-ga over.... (All the girls at work were in love with him)
3. Do you remember what she/he was wearing? I don't remember exactly but I believe it was his brown coat with a brown striped shirt underneath.... he was a good dresser
4. Where was the first time you kissed this person? It was at his house. I was trying to see what time it was so he took his little clock and put it behind his head and told me that I needed to come get it.... he was a sly one alright.
5. How did he/she ask you out? CORRECTION: I asked him out. Okay not technically. My friend also wanted to go out with him so we played "paper, rock, scissors" and since I won she had to ask him out for me!
6. Where did you go for your first date? Well he was suppose to cook me an Italian dinner since he was a culinary arts major, but when I arrived to his house he said "I made reservations instead... and my food would never taste like this". It was true. We went to La Farovia's on 25th street and holy macino... it was amazing.
7. How long did you know this person before you became a couple? I don't think that we ever classified ourselves as a couple. We were just dating. And I thought that he had a harem of women on the side.
8. Has this person ever proposed to you? Yes he has , Turkey Day 2003.
9. Do you and this person have kids together? We have a bun in the oven as we speak!
10. Have you ever broken the law with this person? Well since Kevin is trying to get into the Police Academy, we have to be careful... but if breaking the law refers to driving ALWAYS at least 10 over the speed limit, then yes we do.
11. When was the first time you realized that you liked this person? I liked him from the get go, but when I truly new I was in love with him was when he stayed most of the night with me at the hospital so my parents could go home and get some rest,. (He also asked my dad that same night if he could marry me)
12. Do you get along with any of the ex's of your partner? I have only met one of them and she was so unfriendly. But I do want to meet his ex-fiancee. She seems amazing and her uncle is Russel M. Nelson so I need to get in good so I can have my ticket to heaven!
13. Do you trust this person? I sort of have too. I mean I am carrying his love child.
14. Do you see your partner in your future? Yes, but it might just be a picture of him over the fireplace if he doesn't calm down on his risk taking.... and he is going to be a cop, so hopefully he lasts. :)
15. What’s the most expensive thing this person has given you? A baby.... she isn't cheap. But my ring is a close 2nd, it was a good chunk for his motorcycle and if you listen real close it goes vroom, vroom.
16. What is one thing he/she does that gets on your nerves? Just one??? Oh man, where do I start. The biggest thing is that if he sees something that he wants, he just buys it.
17. What is the thing you do that gets on his/her nerves? again, just one?? It's a tie, either that I hate making phone calls and always have him do it, or that I don't talk (especially when we are in a fight)
18. Where do you see each other in 15 years from now? Hopefully close to retirement through one of the Police Agencies. And I hope that we will have at least a few kids... one of our own, one or 2 adopted, and a foster child or 2. *for those of you who don't know, we are in the adoption process also and have also just signed up to be foster parents. again we are trying to get our tickets into Heaven.*
19.Will this person repost this? Ha ha ha ha ha ha... he will probably never even read it!

I would love to hear about how you met your love so I expect to see this on all of your blogs!

Baby names.... again

We, okay mainly me, are going crazy over baby names! I know we still have 4 months, but I would like to start a little planning. I gave Kevin a list of my top 5 names and he picked one and won't drop it. He tells everyone that is what she is going to be named. So I am going to put another poll on here (yes Mel, I am copying you) and I will show the results to Kevin. I won't tell you which one is mine and which one is his and we will see what you think. The ONLY thing we can agree on is her middle name which will be Lorrisa after Kevin's dad Lorris. Happy Polling!! *and choose mine or you will all get a black mark next to your name!!

Is this a sickness???

So most of you know that there are 2 things about me that will never change..... #1: I am daddy's little girl and #2: I am an avid Barbie Collector. Now what happens when you put those 2 things together?? A VERY happy daughter! Let me explain. My daddy works at night cleaning up construction sites, which if you have never done it or seen it done it is very physical work. My dad is not the most slender of guys so it takes a toll on his body. He also has MAJOR back problems but that doesn't stop him. So from his full-time job he gets paid the first of every month which totally stinks and then he gets paid from this nighttime gig every other week. And so he has gone and bought himself and my mommy some fun things that otherwise they wouldn't have bought without this job. OH and we are a family that is addicted to EBAY also. So lately, my dad has been on EBAY quite often and won't let us look at his account, where as before he would always tell me to get on and see if he has been outbid. Anyway, to make this post short my dad has been fueling my sickness of Barbie collecting like no other. I also got my sister into collecting but not as much as me so he has bought her a few just to be fair. Anyway, so in the last month my dad has bought me 7 new Barbie's! With his hard earned money from that second job. There is a gun that he wants (which BTW, guns are my second collecting sickness) but instead of buying it for himself he has gone and bought these dolls for me and my sister. Above you will see my 2 recent Barbie's from the Grease series. I have one more on the way that is Frenchy and I already have a Sandy doll. (There are 4 more in this same series that I will also have one day) and then he bought me the Queen of Hearts Barbie from the children's storybook series (which I have almost all of that series now) and A Spain Barbie from the Barbie's of the World collection. I haven't counted my collection for a while, but the last I remember I had over 250 and I have received a lot since then and now I am sure I have close to 300. So if any of you reading this have dolls that you don't want anymore or know anyone that wants to get rid of their collection, let me know. I have had many dolls given to me to help with my collection and I am always open to take more. I still have every Barbie that I have ever owned and most of them still in their boxes, and those who are out of their boxes are in their clothes that they came with and their hair is pretty decent too because I took care of my dolls. And when we get into our house, you are all more than welcome to come and see my Barbie Room.... Kevin is not excited about that, but they are my passion and I can't wait for my little girl to take on "the sickness" as my family calls it. So thanks DADDY!! and I love you very much and ONE day I will get you a gun! (or as my mom says, I could sell some of my Barbie's and be able to buy him one... ha ha, fat chance)
