some pics from Christmas

Christmas 2008

Christmas came so fast this year. We had a busy few days. Ash got sick on the 23rd, and still isn't better yet. She has thrown up a few times, has a major cold and she sounds like a smoker when she coughs. Poor little girl, but she still keeps a smile on her face. We spent Christmas Eve shopping, as usual, but just for a few small items. Then that night we wrapped the rest of our gifts, watched movies and ate Chinese food which is a tradition for our family. Then we all went to bed at around 1:00 and the phone rang at 5:00. I thought it was the kids telling us to come over but when I came out of the room my sister was hurrying to head out the door to go to my brother's house because he was taking his wife to the ER. What a way to spend Christmas morning. (I have done it in the past, but it was in the evening, not fun.
Anyway, so we had to be out to Momma Gwen's at 9:00 to open presents with them. We ended up leaving Ash at home because the weather was miserable and I just didn't want to take her out into the cold as miserable as she was. We all got some fun presents... clothes, toys, games.
So then we had to be back to my parents house to open presents at noon. Again we got some great gifts... clothes, toys, games and Ash finally got her Bumbo chair. She is so stinkin cute sittin in it. She loves it. So after we did that and then cooked our "traditional" Tony's pizza that we have every Christmas Day. They were sooo yummy.
Next we had to be back out to Gwen's at 4:00 for dinner and Tristan was calling at 5:00. For those of you who don't know Tristan, he is Kevin's "Big" little brother who is serving a mission in New York. It was so fun to talk to him. He will be home in May and we are all planning on going out there to bring him home, or he will come home and then we will all go back out and spend some time there. I am so excited to go to New York, hence the countdown on the bottom of my page.
Then after we ate dinner, it started to get crappy outside again so we decide to head home. We took Ashlyn with us this time and I hate to travel in bad weather myself, so I wanted to get home. Well almost an hour later, we arrived. We had only passed 2 cars off the side of the road on 21st street, glad it wasn't us though. The weather was horrible.
Then Friday was Kevin's birthday and we didn't do much. Me and him went to McGrath's (yucky) for dinner since he loves seafood and I hate it. Then his mom had planned a surprise party for him that night. So we went back out to her house and it was so much fun. We played Eplanation, a game that we learned on Thanksgiving that my cousin Dr. Josh made up, and it was so much fun.
Then my brother and his friend drove in from Elko that night and stayed until Sunday. We had a fun time with them also. My mom's family Christmas party was on friday so we went for a little while and then my family all went to dinner at Lucky China and then down to Temple Square. After we were all frozen we came back home and watched some funny videos on YouTube.
It was a fun Christmas, even though I don't care for the Holiday. It will be funner next year when Ashlyn knows what is going on and she can open her own presents. We are hoping that in 2 years we can all go to Disneyland for Christmas. The first time that we all went was in 1984, then we went for a day in 1995 and then me and Kevin went in 2006. So I think that it is time we go again. The kids have never been and we can't wait to surprise them. We wanted to go next year but with us going to New York, we can't afford 2 major trips a few months apart.
Anyway, hope you all had a Merry Christmas and that you have an amazing New Year. We will most likely be sitting on our butts doing nothing, as usual.

Kevin is 30 today!!

So today is Kevin's 30th birthday. He has been dreading this birthday for a while... on the other hand I like to rub it in that he is getting old. So here is my 30 things that I love about Kevin

- He is an amazing husband.
- He is an even more amazing daddy.
- He loves his family (and mine) more than anything in the world.
- He would help anyone, even strangers, at the drop of a hat.
- He is the biggest kid.
- He love kids.
- He loves me even though I am cranky.
- He is friends with everyone.
- He does stupid things to make me laugh.
- He can fix almost anything... except a broken nail
- He will go to a store no matter what time it is, and buy me whatever I need... to fix a broken nail
- He is caring
- He can make a mean cheesecake
- He follows his little boy dream and will most likely become a cop next year
- He has lived with my parents for almost a year
- He puts everyone else before his own needs
- He slept in a hospital chair when we were dating so that my parents could go home and get a good night's rest... he also asked my dad the same night if he could marry me.
- He will sleep in a hospital chair for 9 nights... and only complained once
- He doubled the size of my diamond so that I would say yes... I would've said yes anyway, but that DID help :)
- He never wanted a small dog, an inside dog, or a dog to sleep in a bed with him. Now we have 2 dogs, 2 small dogs, and 2 dogs that sleep in bed with us.
- He does the dishes and I do the laundry.
- He lets me buy the vehicles I want... and then complains about the "horses"
- He lets me eat at Wingers and Cafe Rio as many times in a row as I want
- He drives his pimp 1990 Honda... and lets me keep the nice car even when I don't go anywhere
- He likes all my friends and thinks we should all hang out more (wink, wink)
- He will trek to every Walmart in a 10 mile radius so we can get what we are looking for
- He will do poop clean up and not even bat an eye
- He wants to have more kids, even if they are girls
- He wants the best for me and Ash

Kev, I love you for more than 30 reasons, but this is a good start of telling you (even though you will never read this). I love you Mr So-Nice! Hope you have a great day!!!

p.s. Christmas post will come later

Mel beat me this month

Well since Ash and Boston are exactly one month apart, I told Mel that we will always have posts the same day. Well today has slipped away and I didn't get a post of Ash before she did of Boston... but here it is. Happy 5 month's Tinsy-Rue!!!

**the last picture is the first time she had rice cereal. She looks like she doesn't like it but she was actually fussing because we didn't get it in her mouth fast enough**

My updates.. what little they are

Well here it is. My Christmas tree. I know that you all covet how cute it is, but please don't, it won't get you far. It has 84 ornaments on it and although it doesn't top last years cardboard Christmas Tree with 1200 lights, I am quite please with it. Now many of you know I don't really care for Christmas but I do like lights and I like trees. I don't like to decorate them, but still I like them. We have 7 in my mom's house this year. I know that you all think that is a lot, but my dad's boss' wife for his night job has 40 in her house. Yes, I agree... insane.

Moving on, there is still time to order some delicious pizza's!! Thank you to all those who have already bought some. And for those of you who haven't... GET ON IT!!!

Next in line. I haven't done much in the last little while. My dad had trigger finger surgery the end of November and then about a week later ripped it open and had to have it restitched. In the meantime, he had his rotator cuff surgery as well, so I have been his little helper bee. I have also got really close with quite a few people at the hospital since we have been there at least 2 - 3 times a week. That is about the only time I get out of the house.

Another thing, my brother Randy's dee-vo is finalized. Yay!! And he is actually happier... it's been nice to have the old Dizel back. And he hasn't been talking much about Germany so hopefully he will be staying close, well as close as Elko.

Kevin is also getting closer to becoming an employee with Weber County!! WOO HOO!!! He passed his P.T. with flying colors and then we had to wait to hear from them. He was suppose to take his written test but they are waiting for it to come in from another jurisdiction so in the mean time, he had his interview. When we had our little "in" contact the interviewer afterwards, they said that 2 of the applicants really impressed them. The first one was the guy who had just moved from Florida with 14 years experience. The second one was KEVIN!!! How cool is that? If all goes well, he will start the academy April. It is 17 weeks long, but at least this time I will be close to our families if I need something. (Kevin was going to do Highway Patrol while we lived in St George and that meant that he would have left me down there while he attended the academy in Salt Lake for 17 weeks). So keep him in your prayers. He was wanted this for SO long and I know he will be a great Sheriff.

Ashlyn is doing really well. She is laughing all the time and is her "PA's girl". Anytime my dad talks to her she just gets the biggest smile on her face. She will be 5 months on Friday and is still on the smaller side. I think she weighs around 13 pounds is all and we just started her in her 3-6 month clothes. She is the best baby and doesn't really even cry. She has her fussy time at night but just because she is tired. So we just give her the magic medicine, her binky and a blankie, and she is content. I really can't believe how fast the time has gone. I mean it was just a year ago on Christmas morning that I found out we were pregnant! Crazy!

Well last but not least, I am going in for some mouth surgery in the morning. I am not looking forward to it at all. I am going to have my last meal tonight at MO's, because when I had this done last time, I was out of commission for a little while. It sucks, but it needs to be done.

Okay, so now my really last thing. Kevin turns 30 the day after Christmas and I want to do something fun. I would love to have a surprise party for him, but it is hard being so close to Christmas. He is dreading this birthday so I want to make it memorable. Anyone who has ideas let me know... I am open to most anything. I thought about having a party for him on New Year's but then realized that most of our friends probably already have plans made.

Pizza Time!

So my cute little niece Kestin has been taking dance for so many years and wants to dance through High School and maybe get a dance scholarship. Good ambition for a 13 year-old I think. Anyway, so my sister has been paying for all of her dance stuff since sh started and well, it's getting sort of expensive these days. So we decided to have Kestin sell some pizza's to earn a little money to help out. Now if you are like our family and can't live without Tony's pizza then this post is for you.
She is selling them until December 31st and the pizza's will be delivered on January 6th. They are $7.00 each and you can make them to your liking. The choices are Mushroom, Ham, Green Peppers, Green Olives, Pepperoni and my personal favorite The works.
If you are interested in helping out an adorable, fun, cute girl, no not me this time, then let us know. You can either call me 388-8162 or email me an order at bobby-bop@hotmail.com. We need to have the money by December 31st. We can take cash or check and you make the check's out to my sister Raelyn Creager.
If you order, thank you so much. I debated on whether or not to even post something like this, but who doesn't love GREAT pizza??
