10 weeks and 20 visits...

So I went to see the doctor last Thursday and he broke the best news to me... I get to now go see him twice a week for the next 10 weeks!! Oh boy, lucky me! It's a good thing that gas is SO cheap so I can afford to drive there!
Anyway, at my appointment he said that with the diabetes it's the wisest thing to do. Don't be alarmed, there isn't anything wrong with the baby it is just for precaution.
Anyway, so the reasons I get to go see him twice a week now is that I am very high risk for pre-eclampsia and toxemia. He says that the warning signs for it are protein in the urine, and since I have had protein in my urine since the beginning of time, it could just sneak up on me. So I get to go have my blood pressure taken twice a week, a non stress test once a week, a 24 hour urine test weekly, blood tests weekly, and ultrasound weekly and then I actually see the doctor every other week. YIPPEE!!! The only thing that would make this better is if he put me on bed rest.
He also told me that he will be taking her the first week in August, I am shooting for 08-08-08.We also decided together that she will be taken by c-section. I am a little nervous about that, but he explained the pro's and con's of both scenarios and I decided that c-section would be the best. I know that with some prayers it will all be good. I have always been told that diabetics almost always have c-sections for the safety of baby and mommy, but now that it is a reality I am getting nervous. 10 weeks is not that far away. I mean just last week it was Christmas morning and I found out I was pregnant!!
Well that is the happenings for this week with the baby. I just sure hope that the greedy oil punks decide that gas needs to keep going higher so that I can REALLY afford to drive to the hospital twice a week!

CALLING ALL MITT MEISTERS, NEW KIDS ON THE BASE AND BASE BUDDIES

Alright Mitt Meisters.... we are in some need of catching up time. The last time that our "team" got together was I believe just after senior year and we have all moved on since then. So I have talked to a few people and they are game for a little shindig, and I even mentioned it to Bonnie and she offered her humble abode to have it at. So now all we need to do is get some dates together and come up with a compromise. If you are interested, let me know. I was thinking about making a blog for the Meisters so that we could each go on and update our lives so that we can all keep in touch. We were all good friends at one time and I am sure that most of you are a little curious about what everyone else is up to. So if you want I will work on that blog while I having nothing better to do with my time than sit and be preggers. If you have contact with others from the team let them know also and have them email me bobby-bop@hotmail.com and we can get the ball rolling... no pun intended. And I want to hear from people who are back in the good old "New Kids on the Base" and "Base Buddies" days! Ya I know, most of you are jealous over our first 2 team names, just don't be haters.

6 1/2 months preggers

So this is me... 6 1/2 months preggers and starting to get the big belly and I am starting with a little misery. (I think that I look a lot bigger in this picture than I really) My early onset of cankles is pretty neat. And now that it is getting warmer... so is my internal body temperature. I did actually mow the lawn yesterday for my parents and boy oh boy, that was some hot and sweaty fun. But I have felt her kick more and more and it's been so fun. Me and Kevin usually lay in bed and read for about 30 minutes or so (me usually an hour to let the other fun side of reflux subside) and that is when she is moving the most. Anyway, I see Dr Hartman again this week and we will see how things are progressing. It is actually really exciting to think that in just about 2 months I will have a little bundle of joy in my arms and scary as all get out to think that I am going to be responsible for someone else! **you know as I sit here and type this I am wondering really why am I posting this picture?? I look ginormous!! But at least it is in a cute outfit!!**

really? it's ONLY been 4 years?

Our invitation

The day we were engaged.. Thanksgiving 2003

So today me and Kevin celebrated our big 4 years of blissful marriage. It is hard to believe that it's been only 4 years, but at sometimes (and Kevin agrees) it feels like its been about 15. We didn't do anything fun like we usually do because I was pretty sick, so I slept most of the day. Then Kevin took work off a little early and came home to get me and then we went for a ride... to some stores is all he told me. So we go driving to Roy and pull into Aaron's Jewelry, and I was seriously thinking that he was going to pick him out a new wedding band since he doesn't wear the one I bought him. Anyway so we go in and he asks the girl where the earrings are... and I am thinking "What? This is actually for me?....crazy!" Anyway so he tells me to pick out a pair of earrings. So I tell him that he did such a good job at picking out my wedding ring on his own that he should just pick out my earrings also, so he got me a small pair of half hoops. They weren't too shabby in my eyes. Then after we sat and talked to Mitzi for a while we left and went to get Kevin some nice flip flops, not a bad trade huh? Anyway so now I am wearing his Harley on my left ring finger and his new gun in my ears! Now don't go thinking that I am some selfish girl who doesn't buy anything for her husband... we are going to go pick him up and new motorcycle this summer as soon as our 2 credit cards are paid off. Anyway, thanks babe for a great day when I felt like She-ite! Diamonds ARE the best medicine. oh and Kevin "I hate your face"

Diamonds... good medicine.
