some pics from Christmas

Christmas 2008

Christmas came so fast this year. We had a busy few days. Ash got sick on the 23rd, and still isn't better yet. She has thrown up a few times, has a major cold and she sounds like a smoker when she coughs. Poor little girl, but she still keeps a smile on her face. We spent Christmas Eve shopping, as usual, but just for a few small items. Then that night we wrapped the rest of our gifts, watched movies and ate Chinese food which is a tradition for our family. Then we all went to bed at around 1:00 and the phone rang at 5:00. I thought it was the kids telling us to come over but when I came out of the room my sister was hurrying to head out the door to go to my brother's house because he was taking his wife to the ER. What a way to spend Christmas morning. (I have done it in the past, but it was in the evening, not fun.
Anyway, so we had to be out to Momma Gwen's at 9:00 to open presents with them. We ended up leaving Ash at home because the weather was miserable and I just didn't want to take her out into the cold as miserable as she was. We all got some fun presents... clothes, toys, games.
So then we had to be back to my parents house to open presents at noon. Again we got some great gifts... clothes, toys, games and Ash finally got her Bumbo chair. She is so stinkin cute sittin in it. She loves it. So after we did that and then cooked our "traditional" Tony's pizza that we have every Christmas Day. They were sooo yummy.
Next we had to be back out to Gwen's at 4:00 for dinner and Tristan was calling at 5:00. For those of you who don't know Tristan, he is Kevin's "Big" little brother who is serving a mission in New York. It was so fun to talk to him. He will be home in May and we are all planning on going out there to bring him home, or he will come home and then we will all go back out and spend some time there. I am so excited to go to New York, hence the countdown on the bottom of my page.
Then after we ate dinner, it started to get crappy outside again so we decide to head home. We took Ashlyn with us this time and I hate to travel in bad weather myself, so I wanted to get home. Well almost an hour later, we arrived. We had only passed 2 cars off the side of the road on 21st street, glad it wasn't us though. The weather was horrible.
Then Friday was Kevin's birthday and we didn't do much. Me and him went to McGrath's (yucky) for dinner since he loves seafood and I hate it. Then his mom had planned a surprise party for him that night. So we went back out to her house and it was so much fun. We played Eplanation, a game that we learned on Thanksgiving that my cousin Dr. Josh made up, and it was so much fun.
Then my brother and his friend drove in from Elko that night and stayed until Sunday. We had a fun time with them also. My mom's family Christmas party was on friday so we went for a little while and then my family all went to dinner at Lucky China and then down to Temple Square. After we were all frozen we came back home and watched some funny videos on YouTube.
It was a fun Christmas, even though I don't care for the Holiday. It will be funner next year when Ashlyn knows what is going on and she can open her own presents. We are hoping that in 2 years we can all go to Disneyland for Christmas. The first time that we all went was in 1984, then we went for a day in 1995 and then me and Kevin went in 2006. So I think that it is time we go again. The kids have never been and we can't wait to surprise them. We wanted to go next year but with us going to New York, we can't afford 2 major trips a few months apart.
Anyway, hope you all had a Merry Christmas and that you have an amazing New Year. We will most likely be sitting on our butts doing nothing, as usual.

Kevin is 30 today!!

So today is Kevin's 30th birthday. He has been dreading this birthday for a while... on the other hand I like to rub it in that he is getting old. So here is my 30 things that I love about Kevin

- He is an amazing husband.
- He is an even more amazing daddy.
- He loves his family (and mine) more than anything in the world.
- He would help anyone, even strangers, at the drop of a hat.
- He is the biggest kid.
- He love kids.
- He loves me even though I am cranky.
- He is friends with everyone.
- He does stupid things to make me laugh.
- He can fix almost anything... except a broken nail
- He will go to a store no matter what time it is, and buy me whatever I need... to fix a broken nail
- He is caring
- He can make a mean cheesecake
- He follows his little boy dream and will most likely become a cop next year
- He has lived with my parents for almost a year
- He puts everyone else before his own needs
- He slept in a hospital chair when we were dating so that my parents could go home and get a good night's rest... he also asked my dad the same night if he could marry me.
- He will sleep in a hospital chair for 9 nights... and only complained once
- He doubled the size of my diamond so that I would say yes... I would've said yes anyway, but that DID help :)
- He never wanted a small dog, an inside dog, or a dog to sleep in a bed with him. Now we have 2 dogs, 2 small dogs, and 2 dogs that sleep in bed with us.
- He does the dishes and I do the laundry.
- He lets me buy the vehicles I want... and then complains about the "horses"
- He lets me eat at Wingers and Cafe Rio as many times in a row as I want
- He drives his pimp 1990 Honda... and lets me keep the nice car even when I don't go anywhere
- He likes all my friends and thinks we should all hang out more (wink, wink)
- He will trek to every Walmart in a 10 mile radius so we can get what we are looking for
- He will do poop clean up and not even bat an eye
- He wants to have more kids, even if they are girls
- He wants the best for me and Ash

Kev, I love you for more than 30 reasons, but this is a good start of telling you (even though you will never read this). I love you Mr So-Nice! Hope you have a great day!!!

p.s. Christmas post will come later

Mel beat me this month

Well since Ash and Boston are exactly one month apart, I told Mel that we will always have posts the same day. Well today has slipped away and I didn't get a post of Ash before she did of Boston... but here it is. Happy 5 month's Tinsy-Rue!!!

**the last picture is the first time she had rice cereal. She looks like she doesn't like it but she was actually fussing because we didn't get it in her mouth fast enough**

My updates.. what little they are

Well here it is. My Christmas tree. I know that you all covet how cute it is, but please don't, it won't get you far. It has 84 ornaments on it and although it doesn't top last years cardboard Christmas Tree with 1200 lights, I am quite please with it. Now many of you know I don't really care for Christmas but I do like lights and I like trees. I don't like to decorate them, but still I like them. We have 7 in my mom's house this year. I know that you all think that is a lot, but my dad's boss' wife for his night job has 40 in her house. Yes, I agree... insane.

Moving on, there is still time to order some delicious pizza's!! Thank you to all those who have already bought some. And for those of you who haven't... GET ON IT!!!

Next in line. I haven't done much in the last little while. My dad had trigger finger surgery the end of November and then about a week later ripped it open and had to have it restitched. In the meantime, he had his rotator cuff surgery as well, so I have been his little helper bee. I have also got really close with quite a few people at the hospital since we have been there at least 2 - 3 times a week. That is about the only time I get out of the house.

Another thing, my brother Randy's dee-vo is finalized. Yay!! And he is actually happier... it's been nice to have the old Dizel back. And he hasn't been talking much about Germany so hopefully he will be staying close, well as close as Elko.

Kevin is also getting closer to becoming an employee with Weber County!! WOO HOO!!! He passed his P.T. with flying colors and then we had to wait to hear from them. He was suppose to take his written test but they are waiting for it to come in from another jurisdiction so in the mean time, he had his interview. When we had our little "in" contact the interviewer afterwards, they said that 2 of the applicants really impressed them. The first one was the guy who had just moved from Florida with 14 years experience. The second one was KEVIN!!! How cool is that? If all goes well, he will start the academy April. It is 17 weeks long, but at least this time I will be close to our families if I need something. (Kevin was going to do Highway Patrol while we lived in St George and that meant that he would have left me down there while he attended the academy in Salt Lake for 17 weeks). So keep him in your prayers. He was wanted this for SO long and I know he will be a great Sheriff.

Ashlyn is doing really well. She is laughing all the time and is her "PA's girl". Anytime my dad talks to her she just gets the biggest smile on her face. She will be 5 months on Friday and is still on the smaller side. I think she weighs around 13 pounds is all and we just started her in her 3-6 month clothes. She is the best baby and doesn't really even cry. She has her fussy time at night but just because she is tired. So we just give her the magic medicine, her binky and a blankie, and she is content. I really can't believe how fast the time has gone. I mean it was just a year ago on Christmas morning that I found out we were pregnant! Crazy!

Well last but not least, I am going in for some mouth surgery in the morning. I am not looking forward to it at all. I am going to have my last meal tonight at MO's, because when I had this done last time, I was out of commission for a little while. It sucks, but it needs to be done.

Okay, so now my really last thing. Kevin turns 30 the day after Christmas and I want to do something fun. I would love to have a surprise party for him, but it is hard being so close to Christmas. He is dreading this birthday so I want to make it memorable. Anyone who has ideas let me know... I am open to most anything. I thought about having a party for him on New Year's but then realized that most of our friends probably already have plans made.

Pizza Time!

So my cute little niece Kestin has been taking dance for so many years and wants to dance through High School and maybe get a dance scholarship. Good ambition for a 13 year-old I think. Anyway, so my sister has been paying for all of her dance stuff since sh started and well, it's getting sort of expensive these days. So we decided to have Kestin sell some pizza's to earn a little money to help out. Now if you are like our family and can't live without Tony's pizza then this post is for you.
She is selling them until December 31st and the pizza's will be delivered on January 6th. They are $7.00 each and you can make them to your liking. The choices are Mushroom, Ham, Green Peppers, Green Olives, Pepperoni and my personal favorite The works.
If you are interested in helping out an adorable, fun, cute girl, no not me this time, then let us know. You can either call me 388-8162 or email me an order at bobby-bop@hotmail.com. We need to have the money by December 31st. We can take cash or check and you make the check's out to my sister Raelyn Creager.
If you order, thank you so much. I debated on whether or not to even post something like this, but who doesn't love GREAT pizza??

I am thankful...

That today marks 2 months since Ashlyn's last breathing episode (or should I say not breathing). I hope that this trend continues. I totally believe in the power of prayer and know the miracles that come from them... like my little girl whose face is staring at me as I type this.
Okay, enough of this sappy crap... BRING ON THE GRUBBAGE!!!

Disclaimer: I know that I should post about other things that I am thankful for like my husband, our families, my bestest friends and my closest friends, and my true friends, and my good friends, and my just friends and my blog friends and the friends who just stalk my blog but don't comment... but i don't want to. right now. or later. or tomorrow and friday i will be shopping, so maybe next year for all you others.

Twilight night

So last night me, Cathy & her mom Sandy, my sis Raelyn and her friends Katie & Angelee & her daughters Jaycee and Shaylee (spelling?) all went to the midnight showing of Twilight. It was so fun to spend time out with "girls". Now I love to be with Ashlyn, but I love a girl's night out. I was/am not a Twi-hard like most of you but I will give props to the movie. It actually followed the book for the most part and I was happy I went. I didn't like Edward at first, but he grew on me and his eyes are B-E-A-utiful! And then it showed Emmett... yes he is quite dee-lish himself. And then my favorite... James. I heart him. In the first scene when he appears... oh baby, I was all for it. I could've licked him! Anyway, so I guess I will finish the next book and probably go see it when it comes out also.

james Pictures, Images and Photos

p.s. on January 9th a new movie with Kate Hudson comes out and OMH, it looks so funny. Me and Cathy have a date for it and we are accepting more apps from people to come with us... It will be great fun!!!

4 months later...

Ashlyn is 4 months old today... time flies when you are in love with your little one. I look at her and I am amazed at how big she is getting, but yet she is still little. We went to the doctor on Monday because she has had some goo coming out of her left eye. Dr. N said that it is a clogged tear duct. Poor little girl, if it's not one problem, it's another (just like her mommy). She also weighed in at 12.1 lbs and will find out her height on Friday when she gets her shots. Anyway, she hasn't acted sick at all so it must not bother her. She is still the happiest girl ever. Another accomplishment is that is has almost been 2 months since her last "episode". She had it at Laurie's wedding shower on September 26th... prayers have truly been answered.
Some highlights of the last 4 months are:
#1: She responds so well to voices. She just smiles. She especially knows her "PA" (my dad) and just glows when he talks to her, it is too cute.
#2: She laughs. It is so dang cute to hear her laugh.
#3: She talks so much. When she wakes up in the night, or in the morning she just sits and talks like "Mommy get me outta here, I am HUNGRY"
#4: She is always moving. When she has her tubbies she is wild. It takes everything my mom has to hold her. (I can't bath her yet, which makes me sad, but my hands are so weak that I am afraid I will drop her)... at least I have got some on video
#5: She has started with a tooth. It hasn't broken through at all, but you can feel the little lump in the right side of her mouth. It is so exciting.
#6: She still don't have a bald spot! HALLELUJAH!!!! Thanks to my sister's thinking, we made these little things that go under her head wherever she lays and they totally work! Thanks SIS!
#7: She loves the color RED! She truly was meant to be named after her Grandma Don-Don who LOVES red. She will find something red and just stare at it for hours. It is too cute.
#8: She can sit on her own for 5-6 seconds. It is so fun to watch her.
#9: She absolutely HATES tummy time. Dr. N said to have her on her tummy for at least 15 minutes a day. She lasts, at most 5 minutes and then she wails.
#10: She recognizes Jesus' face. It is so sweet to see the peaceful look she has on her face when she finds his picture and then she gets the biggest smile on her face.
#11: She is such a happy baby. The only time that she cries is if I don't get her bottle to her fast enough. And she starts to fuss when she gets out of the tub. She loves her tubbies.

Ash- we love you so much. We are so proud to be your parents.

ENJOY some CUTE pics!

Grocery Smarts Class

Hey everyone... this is short notice, but since I haven't had any RSVP's from my family (eh hmm Steph and Aunt Kami) then I am extending our invite to the Grocery Smarts Class at our house this Tuesday night. Here is our "official" invite... but I need RSVP's by Sunday (Monday the latest!) Please send an email if you would like to join! bobby-bop@hotmail.com

Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to invite friends and family to our house on Tuesday Nov. 18th at 6:30 pm. We are having a Grocery Smarts Class. We went to this class back in October and we couldn't believe how much money there is out there to save, especially this time of year. You don't have to buy anything, just come and learn about the smartsource and redplum ads in the Sunday paper. There is also a free website that gives you a weekly list of items that are on sale for the best deal which includes online coupons as well. The idea is to get enough coupons for each person living in your household. So this is how you do it. Come to the class and sign up for additional news papers to be delivered to your door. We bought two additonal papers (Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune) Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays only. It was $40 for 10 weeks, but then we got a $20 gift card to Albertson's. So what she is really selling is newspapers, which you don't have to buy. So if you are interested in saving some money, just come to the class and just listen to what you can do with just the internet. We promise it will be worth it! Listed below is our first savings at Albertson's just by using a few online coupons and my preferred card.
1st Trip = We paid $47 and saved $46
2nd Trip = We paid $109 and saved $147
We saved this much just by using the online best buys list. Please RSVP by Nov. 14th.
Call us if you have any questions. This isn't just for the women, we know guys like to save money also.

Ashlyn's Blessing Day 09/07

So I am a little late with this post, I know, but the day we blessed Ashlyn was so hectic. We had so much family over afterwards and so many people wanted to see and hold Ashlyn so we didn't get many pictures taken. And in the ones that did get taken, she started fussing because she was so hungry. Anyway, so yesterday after church, we put Ashlyn back in her blessing dress and took some pictures. She has gotten so big since her blessing day because her dress was huge on her and now it fits her pretty good. Oh well, I don't care that I am late taking them. We did at least get a couple from that day, I am just glad to have more of her in the dress. I instantly fell in love with it when I saw it.

Family Home Evening @ Energy Solutions Arena

Family Home Evening: METALLICA CONCERT!! I could do more FHM's if they are like that.

This blog was suppose to be titled "My ode to Mike", but FHM is funnier to me.
So yesterday I am watching Cher on ELLEN and I was really into it, when the house phone rang around 4:30 and I knocked it off the night stand. I was holding Ashlyn who was sleeping so I couldn't get down on the floor to find it. Next thing I heard someone talking on the answering machine, but just thought that it was those stupid phone calls saying "please vote for mister panzy" (Rob Bishop) So a few minutes later I come down into the kitchen and look at the caller I.D. on the kitchen phone and it said Michael Mathews... I thought what the heck? So then I push the button to listen to the message and it says "This is Michael Mathews... yada yada yada... and I have some tickets for Robyn and Kevin to the METALLICA concert if they can get a babysitter." The message was alot longer than that but you get the picture. I would have loved to have seen the look on my face at that moment. I hollered up to Raelyn to ask if she could watch Ashlyn and she bust down the stairs thinking that something was wrong. I am trying to spit out the words that I just heard but I was SO EXCITED!! I finally got out the words "METALLICA concert" and she said that she hated me. Anyway, so I call Mike back and he said that the ARMY had some free tickets and he had 14 of them. I told him definitely that I would go... DREAM COME TRUE!!! So the thoughts in my head are #1: I have no time to get ready, #2: I can FINALLY meet ARI, even though it is at a concert where we couldn't talk and get to know each other, and #3: Is this a dream? So as I come back to reality while talking to Mike he said that his wife wasn't going to be going, so I was sad... but only for a few minutes. Sorry Ari, I was going to METALLICA and couldn't be sad for too long. He said that he would be at Crown Burger at 6:00 and that we can get free parking if we eat there. Let me remind you, it is after 4:30 and I hadn't even showered for the day and Kevin was at work. Anyway so I call Kevin and tell him to drive like the wind to get home because we are going to METALLICA! He didn't really believe it either. So I hurry and jump in the shower, Kevin gets home just before 5:00 and we were on the road at 5:35. No one better ever tell me that I take too long to get ready, and I looked amazing in the end. So we arrive at Crown Burger and meet Mike and his group of guys that he brought and we get the tickets, eat and book it over to E.S.A. because I wanted a shirt. So we stand in line and get our shirts and then off to find our seats. We weren't sitting next to anyone that we knew so after the second act we went and found Mike and crew and sat with them. It was the BEST concert ever... next to Garth Brooks. He is still my favorite. My favorite part of the entire night was "Nothing Else Matters" and "Enter Sandman". I was really wishing that they would have played The Unforgiven or Unforgiven 2 but since I didn't have a say... They played for 2 hours... excuse me, 2 AMAZING hours. I was so glad that it was in the round because no one had a bad seat. And thanks to the zoom on my camera, it looks as if we are sitting pretty close.
Anyway, the night was awesome. I will never forget it. And I owe Mike BIG time. I am so glad that we have stayed friends all these years. Ari, I told Mike that we have to meet in SLC some night and dinner is on us. So there, now it is in writing and I can't back out. Anyway, thanks again Mike... and the ARMY!! We truly enjoyed ourselves, even being as sick as I was when it started, and I am paying for it more today.
Mike, if you EVER get FREE tickets to PINK or ROB ZOMBIE... I better be FIRST ON YOUR LIST!!! But I want good tickets to those, so see what the ARMY can do!!! wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

ENJOY THE PICTURES!!!

Halloween Pics

Woody, Bullseye, baby Jesse & Jesse

This post is for Becky (who was the stem of a Pumpkin) because I told her I would have these pictures posted TONIGHT!! And Since we weren't cool enough to be invited to anyone's parties these are from our TrunkerTreat at church. And if you are retarded like some people and don't know what or who we are, we are "Woody's Roundup" from Toy Story 2! Woody, Bullseye, Jesse and baby Jesse. Kestin is a witch and Raelyn is the "Miss Rodeo Queen of Everything 2008"... it was amazing. Anyway, not much of a post but oh well. It's good enough for who posted it.

Who is Ashlyn's dad???

Answer? Ashlyn is definitely Kevin's kid. Just look at that
hairline! Poor kid. She does have a hairline up farther too thank goodness. If it doesn't grow in though, she will be cussing her dad. She also has the "Rigby eye of the hurricane" in back too. I am also blessfully cursed with that. It makes short hair 'so fun'. Anyway, I haven't posted pictures of Ashlyn for a while and I keep getting threatening emails so here are just a few random ones. The last one is the princess who decided she needed her ba-ba while getting pampered in the tub. ENJOY!

photo tag

I 'tagged' myself after stalking a few of my fellow blogger's blogs... and this is a fun one! Here's how you play: You post the fourth photo from your fourth album on your computer! It's fun to see what it is and share it.

I actually decided to post the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th picture to get the full effect. This is my brother Randy. Yes, I know what you are all asking and the answer is yes he is retarded. No, he is actually just willing to do anything and put anything on. He is a true comedian. These were some of my Grandpa Dickie's costumes and being the retard that Randy is, he put them right on. I wish I had the pictures of him in my clubbing pants... they were amazing.
I am actually glad that it was Randy who was in the 4th album and the 4th picture. He is going through a really hard time right now and there is nothing that I can do about it. Out of all us Creagers, he has been through the most. And since he is a Creager, we tend to shut people out when we are hurting and keep to ourselves. Our most famous line is "I AM FINE" when really we know that we're not. It is our cover, not a good one I know. Anyway, Randy moved to Elko a few months ago to better his life for him and his wife. Well SHE didn't enjoy it and so she moved home. We "thought" temporarliy, but we "knew" permanantly. Then out of the blue she calls and says that she is filing for the BIG D... oh great here we go again. Brief history on Randy: he was married in 2001 for 3 or 4 short months until his wife at the time said that she didn't want to be married anymore. Then he was in a relationship with another girl for 5 + years and then they split and now he has been just married over a year and she is calling it quits! WTH ladies?? My brother is amazing!! Okay back to the story. So Randy is out in Elko loving his job at the Gold Mine and is GOING TO SCHOOL!!! Um, we Creager's are college drop outs. So YAY for Randy!! Anyway, well my dad text him yesterday (because we are texter's and not caller's) and he gets this text back saying "I am moving out of the country". Yeah, ok Rand, sure you are. Well I text him last night and he comfirmed it, he plans on moving to Germany!! WTH?? Iwas thinking out of the country like California or back to Wisconsin like he wanted to before. But seriously, GERMANY? Anyway, I love my brother and I will support him in whatever he does. I WILL NOT be happy about it, but I will support him and pray for him daily. He is hurting, heart broken and thinks that this move is for the best so that he can start over fresh... far away. I blame Holly for all of this. She is young, immature and totally selfish (which is the reason she told us she is filing for divorce). I won't say that I hate her for hurting my brother, even though I would like to. I know everything has 2 sides, but I side with my family. Randy, I know you will never read this or for that matter even know that I posted this (unless Mike and Steph say something about the pics) but I do love you. I know we have not always got along. But since we have both decided to grow up (and get tattoo's) I have loved being close to you. I know that I can turn to you no matter what and you won't judge me. You will give me your honest opinion and I am greatful for that, even when your honesty hurts like a mother trucker. I wish you the best and hope that you can find the happiness that you DESERVE! Hate your face you cry baby poo butt @$$! Oh and the first 10 Germans you meet are on your team.

softball party

Amber, Janelle, Jennifer, Tianna, Cathy and Robyn

So16 + years ago, the "New Kids On The Base" was formed. We were just a bunch of little girls that didn't know what we were doing with a bat, ball and a glove on our hand, but dang it we wanted to play some softball!! We all tried different positions to see what we liked. We had fun and all of us girls were good friends.
The next year, we changed our name "Base Buddies" and we were a little better. We lost a few players and added some new ones. We were all still great friends.
Then the next summer, we needed a grown up name. NKOTB and Base Buddies was too kid-like and we wanted to be taken seriously. We were a good team. We had all got to know our parts on the field and were darn good at them. (Me personally, I was the catcher... and I LOVED IT! I was fearless when it came to crouching under the batter and talkin some trash to make them nervous. I also played second base, but catcher was my favorite.) So we form the "MITT MEISTERS". Again, we lost a few players added some new and we kicked everyone's trash. We played against some good teams and some bad teams, and sad to say, when we played the worst team in the league, we were so over confident that we lost. How do I remember this? Because one of my good friends now was on that team and when we were talking about softball, before we told each other what positions we played she said that they hated the catcher on our team.... wa ha ha it was me!! But she doesn't let me live it down that we lost to them. Anyway, I believe that we took second in county every year. We rocked. Our coaches rocked and our families all supported us at every game. We were all still good friends.
Then along comes junior high and high school. People go their separate ways, go to college, have good jobs, get married, move away, have babies, see the world and we all lose touch eventually. Well, I have been thinking alot about the "Meisters" for quite some time and wondered what everyone has been up to. I talked to Cathy since me and her talk quite a bit, and decided that we are just going to plan a day (we started planning last year) and tell everyone and those who can will be there. And those who won't.... catch ya next time.
So last night was the night, we only had 7 of us there and 1 arrive later after 3 others had left and it was so much fun!! We started out the night with a little catching up, then ate some fabulous taco salad, Amber's jalepeno dip with bread and some of Natalie's delicious brownies. (We also got to eat some of Missi's fab pumpkin squares with cream cheese when she arrived later.) Then we sat and talked some more... you figure most of us haven't seen each other since our last shin dig at the Steoger's right after High School. The crazy part is, we all live within 10 minutes of each other! With the exceptions of Janelle is Marriott-Slaterville and Tianna in Provo.
It was such a fun night and I wish I had more pictures but I was too involved in the conversation, i.e: my dinner. And Natalie was missing from the picture because I couldn't figure out my timer on the camera before she left... so sorry Nat. And Missi came late so just picture them in it.
Thanks girls for coming. We need to do it more often and hopefully get the other sluggers to come join us. Next summer we will have to have a "softball" game and see how rusty we all are. If you click on the link to the right, you can see one of the last years pictures that we played. Not everyone is included in that picture and I will have the NKOTB and Base Buddies pictures added as soon as we get into our new house.
NEXT: WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A HOOPER ELEMENTARY 6TH GRADE REUNION!! HOW FUN WOULD THAT BE?? SKATING NIGHT ANYONE??? OR HOW ABOUT OUR "CARD" DANCES???

Mommy questions

Well I actually got this on myspace, but then I saw that our cousin Dot posted one on her blog so I decided to do the same.

1- Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant?
Home, Christmas morning @ 5:30 AM in the bathroom

2- Who was with you?
The hubby and our 2 dogs

3- How did you find out that you were pregnant?
crazy story... we decided to surprise our families and came home Friday night and I was nauseated the whole ride up and all weekend but just thought i had the flu (as usual at Christmas for me). Then we went back to St George and on Christmas Eve we were at Costco and something told me to look at my day planner. I did and noticed I was a week late so we bought the 4 pack test (just to be sure). I knew I had to wait for the morning pee (unlike Dot)

4- What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant?
It was 5:30 am!!! So I was groggy and not in the best of moods. I peed on the stick and as we were waiting I told Kevin it was probably negative as usual and he looked at it and said "oh yeah?" and showed it to me. I was WIDE awake after that and shocked and SO happy!! It was finally some good news since my new car was in the shop because of the stupid "Jackie's" and the fuel center but I won't get into that

5- Your boyfriends/ or Husbands reaction?
Shock!! and pretty happy too.. we totally took pics of the stick.

6- Who was the first person you told?
Since it was 5:30 we sent picture messages out to our ENTIRE family just to see who would respond first.... it was my mom and sister and my mom BAWLED when she talked to me since I was in St G and she was home and I had just seen her over the weekend.

7- Did you plan to get pregnant?
Yeah, we just thought it would take longer than it did. We had only been trying since August 23rd so it was pretty fast.

8- Was everybody happy for you?..
Oh heck yeah! They all knew how hard I had worked to get my health in order so it was a long time coming. But they were also scared because of what it could do to me.

9- Was anybody hating on you?
tough shiz if they were

10- Did you go out and celebrate?
no, it was Christmas Day. But after we had Christmas morning with Kevin's dad and step-mom, we just went home and chilled. But the next day we went out and celebrated by having the blood work done!! ZING!!

11- Did you want to find out the sex?
yes, but I told Kevin from the get go it was a girl

12- What was the sex?
hands down a girl... and we found out at 13 weeks.

13- Did anyone throw you a baby shower?
Yes I had 2 of them

14- If yes, who?..
My ward and my family

15- Did you get any outfits at the baby shower that you just knew you weren't gonna use?
Just a couple from the older people in our ward... she got so many clothes.

16- How much weight did you gain?..
11 pounds

17- Did you loose all of the weight that you gained?..
Yup, I am 7 pounds below!!! And still dropping!! :)

18- Did you get a lot of streach marks?
I have 2 on my boob (TMI I know)

19- What did you crave the most?..
Nothing and I was dissapointed. I want to crave something cool like Crisco and gain lots of weight.

20- Did you crave anything crazy?..
I pretended to crave certain restaurants just so we would go out

21- Who or what got on your nerves the most?
Kevin.... I even asked for a divorce. Poor guy, he will never want me to get pregnant again.

22- Were you married at the time?
yes

23- Did you have any complications during your pregnancy?
Yup.. i had full blown influenza and pneumonia in February and then I was good for a while but in June I started to get real sick and saw my doctor twice a week! And then I had preeclampsia/toxemia and a crap load of protein in my urine. Then I was swollen head to toe... it wasn't pretty

24- Where were you when you went into labor?..
In the OR, they just took her for MY health.

25- Did your water break?
Nope, didn't get to experience that

26- Who drove you to the hospital?
My mom did. My blood pressure was off the charts so my doctor told me to come to the office ASAP. He ended up admitting me right then and there and said I wouldn't be going home without my baby so I knew she had to come soon.

27- What was your due date?
August 26th

28- Did you go early or late?
6 weeks early

29- Who was in the room with you when you gave birth?
My husband, a doctor, anethesiologist, and 2 nurses. I think that was all but I was pretty sick and out of it

30- Was it video taped?
Kevin had a video camera and when they said "get the camera ready dad" the way he brought the camera around I saw my belly.... I threw up a little in my mouth when I saw that!!!

31- Did you have any drugs for the pain?
Oh yeah!!!! LOVED THEM!!!! And I had the drip the entire next day and then I was put on the pills and sent home with some too.....

32- Did you go Natural or have a c-section?
C-Section.. best way to go

33- What was your first reaction after giving birth?
Don't really remember. The first memory I really have of that day (and only because it was documented in pictures to help me remember) is I had her at 9:52 am and I finally got to hold and see her 12 hours later because I was so sick. I am still mad about it but what can I do?

34- How big was the baby?
6 lbs 5 ounces 18 1/2 inches

35- Did your boyfriend/ Husband cry?
I don't think so.. and I am sure he wouldn't admit it if he did

36- What did you name the baby?..
Ashlyn Larue, after my grandma

37- Did the baby have any complications?..
Nope, she was perfect! It was a miracle because my doctor told me from day 1 to plan on having her in NICU for 7 - 10 days. She truly was a miracle I don't care what anyone says.

38- How old is the baby today?
2 months yesterday.

39- When is the next one coming?
We get to restart the adoption process when she turns 1 so who knows how soon it will be when we get a child.

40- Are you married now?
yes

41-if you could, would you do it all over again?
Of course... I just don't think I want to be that sick again but we will see!!!

car accident pics

inside of the truck. if you look close above the driver's seat, you can see a break in the window... that was from Annette's hand. and the "Oh crap" handle on the passenger side dashboard, was completely jammed because that is what Bret was holding on to.

Jackson's aftermath... calls himself "Sloth" off of Goonies

what use to be a Chevy... and the dodge don't look to swell either

So these are some pictures of that accident that Annette and Bret were in. They are all doing better, but Jackson has to go have some more surgery tomorrow. This is what his mom emailed to all of us...
"Jackson has been seen by a wonderful Dr. in Salt Lake who specializes in plastic surgery of the face and especially the eyes. Bret and I have been very impressed with him. Upon review of the CT scans from the hospital in Idaho Falls, he has determined that he will need to reconstruct the bony eye socket around Jack's eye. The first surgery that Jackson received in Idaho Falls would have been sufficient for the small fracture in the part of the socket under the eye, however there is a much bigger fracture in the part of the socket between his right eye and nose. Much of the fatty tissue and muscle that supports the eye has sunk into this fracture and is allowing his eyeball to sink deeper into his face. He is scheduled for surgery on Thursday morning. We will get the exact time from the surgical center on Wednesday afternoon. The Dr. is confident that a titanium plate covered in plastic will allow for proper placement of the eyeball. It is an out-patient surgery that should last about 2 hours. Jack should be able to come home on Thursday night and hopefully be able to get some much-needed quiet rest."

When me and my sister went to see them last week, they were telling us what Jackson had said to Annette and it made me cry, so I thought I would share. He said "Mom, it couldn't have been dad that got hurt because he has to go to work and make money for us, and it couldn't have been you because our house would get to be a big mess, and it couldn't have been Jakey or Jess because they wouldn't have made it... so it just had to be me that got hurt" SNIFF, SNIFF...... he is so grown up at only age 8 and definitely had some angels watching over him.
Anyway, just thought I would share with you all. And PLEASE don't drive while tired. I am not sure how many of you have fallen asleep at the wheel, but it is scary. I did on one of my last trips from St George to Hooper, right before Beaver. I am not sure what woke me, but I did with just enough time to swerve off on the exit. Tiredness can hit you so quick and you don't even realize it.
